This unit links to a key aim of the Commonwealth Games which is to unify people through a common focus. Exploring celebrations through this unit enable students to begin to understand the importance of celebrations, why we have them, their common elements and influences such as culture and beliefs. Through their own art forms and celebrations students unify as a community and participate in dance, drama, music, visual arts, media and the sharing of foods.
