Technology impacts on all aspects of our life including how we conduct, and participate in, sporting events.
Technology improving performance
Technological change, over the last 50 years since the hosting of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, has had a significant influence on sporting performance. Students will investigate the impact of a range of changes in technology on sporting performance.
Experience the difference
This activity provides opportunity for students to investigate and experience the difference between modern day sporting equipment/clothing to that of the past.
Transporting the Queen’s Baton
The Queen's Baton will travel to all 71 Commonwealth nations. In this activity students will investigate the technological changes associated with the Melbourne 2006 Queen's Baton and will design a hands-free method of holding the Baton.
