To volunteer or not?
In this activity, students will examine the concept of 'the volunteer'. Students will reflect on their own experiences and discuss the benefits and barriers to individuals and communities volunteering their time and effort in community based events. Students will use information and communications technology to collect and sort data for a volunteer position associated with the Games.
Celebrate our cultural diversity
In this activity, students will connect with their local council and participate in a celebration of cultural diversity as a lead up to the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
Just Do It!
In this activity, students will participate in an activity that is organised in their local community. The activity should be a completely new activity for the student and could involve sports, the arts, culture, the environment, community services and so on. Students will then reflect on and write about their experience.
